Hyundai has officially unveiled the pricing and full specs for the second generation Hyundai i20 supermini. The new range will start from £10,695 when it hits showrooms in January 2015 which is more than the new Skoda Fabia and a lot more than the Vauxhall Corsa, which starts at £8,995.
The i20 line-up starts with the 74bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine in S spec, with electric front windows, tinted windows, USB connectivity and remote locking. An optional extra £750 gets you the S Air version, which adds manual air-con. The S Blue is only available with the 74bhp 1.1 CRDI diesel, at £12,445. This adds stop/start and low-rolling-resistance tyres to achieve CO2 emissions of 84g/km.
Hyundai also believes its new Ford Fiesta competitor will sell best in SE spec, which is available with the 83bhp 1.2 and 99bhp 1.4-litre petrol engines, as well as the 74bhp 1.1 and 89bhp 1.4-litre diesels. It starts from £12,725; it features 16-inch alloys, cruise control, Bluetooth, a lane-departure warning system and reversing sensors.
Finally, there are top-spec Premium and Premium SE models, costing from £13,725 and £14,725 respectively. Premium adds a smartphone docking station, auto-dim rear view mirror, automatic wipers and lights, climate control, LED running lights and tail-lamps and projection headlights with cornering function. Premium SE adds luxuries such as a full-length panoramic glass sunroof, heated front seats and front parking sensors. With the 1.4-litre CRDI diesel, it tops the range at £16,725.
