Ever since the launch of Q3 in 2012, many improvements in its fine designing details have been made. The first ever model was more sophisticated, and the makers had put in loads of effort in the flawless look and feel of the car. But the successors are likely to get mature with serious updates mechanically improving the overall driving experience of Audi Q3.
The Q3 gets inspiration of basic design from its parent car with a few alterations in exterior design. The bumper on the front looks to have redesigned giving it a new look. The air vents too seem larger than before. The mini SUV gets a beefier look owing to some extra cladding. LED headlights are sleeker looking and compliment the car’s exterior. Not to forget the daytime running lamps and dynamic turn indicator. It comes in a range of vibrant exterior colors that are super catchy. Aqua blue and vibrant red enhance the features of the car and make it look bigger and heavier.
Keeping its closeness with Audi’s tradition, you will find this car following the footprints of its parent version. The standard and class however are unmatched. The car has dimensions as follows: 4388mm length, 1831mm width and 1608mm height.
Under the bonnet sits a 1.4-Litre turbocharged engine which in many aspects resembles to that of A3 and A4. The drive is quite smooth even on difficult routes. To our disappointment, the cabin is not as peaceful as we expected rather the grunts of engine can be heard. The auto start and stop technology used in the car makes it highly fuel efficient saving the consumption. The engine shuts down automatically when the car comes to rest using the “efficiency modeâ€. Other modes include ‘Comfort’, ‘Auto’ and ‘Dynamic’ which work distinctly to increase the performance of the car.
There are no huge surprises in the interior as it largely remained unchanged. The dashboard is crowded with knobs and buttons which have now become obsolete with the advancement in technology. All the latest cars are now designed with large touch sensitive LCD display. Even A4 has a classy up-to-date infotainment system. But, Q3 seems lagging behind in the race.
Rotary knobs are placed for dual-zone climate control of inside of cabin. Storage options are provided throughout the cabin. Bottle holders in the doors come in handy. Also, the car offers ample space of 420 liters to carry heavy luggage along. Sun roof makes the inner cabin more lit and airy making it look roomier.
Audi’s MMI infotainment system is added as a built-in feature controlling almost all the basic functions including speakers and audio system, navigation system etc. A 6.5-inch screen is present that looks freshly designed and controls everything through buttons and knobs. The interface is hub of all the activities. The storage capacity is huge offering 20 GB space for you to save media files and an endless music library.”
