Audi A3 has grown four years old, yet it does not seize to impress us with high end redesign in every edition. This car has gained love and fame because of its versatile features in reasonable price ranges.
No wonder it has become a highly desired car. Now we have all eyes on the latest version of A3. This vehicle is said to be a perfect mix of affordable comfort. Equipped with cutting edge technology, it is a fair deal for all Audi lovers. Let’s have a look on the revolutionized version with its features enlisted below.
At the very moment, the options of engines are a bit limited although the company has marketed both diesel and petrol engines but for more variants we will have to wait a bit longer. The old A3 turbo 1.8 litre engine, that gave 132kW power and 250Nm torque is replaced with a brand new 2.0 litre TFSI engine with superior outputs of 140kW and 320Nm.
Engine with same specs was seen previously in A4 edition. The S tronic dual-clutch transmission also got upgraded to seven speed. The engine is a quiet one under the bonnet ensuring a smooth noise free drive.
Some real eminent changes in exterior design can be seen. A slight facelift and freshly designed front and back lights are quite notable. The front bumper gives a more solid look and the rear diffuser has also undergone a minor change. The S line is available in a choice of front bumper and rear diffuser to give it a sportier look.
For the very first time, Audi A3 has offered two variants in its headlights as well in addition to the standard bi-xenon headlights. LED headlights and Matrix LED headlights are a convenient option now.
Both these variants have a characteristic of dynamic signal when the car has to make a turn instead of blink. The car seems compact on the outer side but is witnessed to be roomy. Keeping its tradition, A3 is available in three-door hatchback, five-door sport back, sedan and cabriolet varieties.
The Audi A3 has taken a huge leap in advanced technology by introducing the Virtual Cockpit. This is however an optional feature as a part of revamp of Audi A3 which was previously available for buyers of expensive Audis. In the latest edition of A3, there is a 31cm large instrumental panel right in front of the driver which displays speed, revs and navigation map.
It has replaced the traditional instrument cluster. It gives a more digital kind of look to the speedometer with multiple functions. The driver can switch between two modes: one is the “classic mode†that exhibits the normal instrumental cluster while the second is “infotainment modeâ€.
In this mode the speedometer gets shrunk to one side and focus comes to the infotainment and navigation system. All the control is given to the driver with ease of access so that he does not have to compromise on driving.”
