There are hundreds of car niches operating in the market to cater the taste of every driver but it is not possible to fulfil all the requirements of a driver from a single vehicle. Then always there is a giant automaker who comes step forward and do something different that others cannot do…
Volkswagen Passat is one of the giant automakers in the world and this time they have introduced the Passat Alltrack as a real crossover, which was something as a late comer in late 2012 but Volkswagen has changed the pace and introduced the Alltrack at Frankfurt motor show. Actually it was launched few months ago and now it will go no display at Frankfurt motor show as well.
New Volkswagen Passat Alltrack is an all-wheel drive crossover that has a metal sump guard replaced by a light weight plastic shield. A 4Motion four-wheel drive system which is claimed to be very responsive in slippery conditions as a permanent 4WD set-up.
The Alltrack has a 2.0-litre four cylinder engine that produces 148bhp from a diesel setup. It takes 9.3 seconds from zero to 62 miles per hour sprint. The fuel economy of the Alltrack is almost 56.7 miles per gallon and it returns the carbon emissions of 130g/km. A six-speed manual gearbox is equipped to empower the vehicle.
The Alltrack has a quality cabin which has been prepared after a bit of makeover. It offers Alcantara leather seats and a different trim finish for the dash. With UK specifications, new Alltrack will be offered with a 2.0-litre TDi diesel engine in two power outputs, a 148 bhp with the six-speed gearbox and an 187bhp with a DSG automatic transmission.
