Ford Galaxy has built its reputation on engine-functionality, state of the art technological features and larger interior space. The third-generation Ford Galaxy has been categorised as a “first class” medium of travel, it is the largest MPV among all others MPVs being produced by Ford.
Ford has produced three trim levels for its Galaxy, Titanium, Titanium X and Zetec, the Titanium X offers panoramic roof, keyless entry and LED running lights.
The Galaxy offers wonderful driving experience with its variety of strong and powerful engine options, Ford has developed a range of EcoBoost petrol and smooth diesel engines for its Galaxy. It had come up with Powershift dual-clutch gearbox and six-speed manual gearbox is optional.
Ford has also made four-wheel drive for its Galaxy which makes the ride thrilling and entertaining. Ford has built its reputation on strong and powerful engines that take the drive to the next level of fun and thrill. Galaxy has two petrol engines options, the 1.5-litre with 158bhp and 2.0-litre with 207bhp. The latter is EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine, and delivers 27.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 180g/km, whereas 1.5-litre petrol engine returns 35.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 149g/km.
However, Ford hopes that diesel engine will take the major share of sales. The Galaxy also provides two power options for diesel engines, the 2.0-TDCi diesel engine churns out 148bhp.
Whereas if the customers are looking for some extra muscles, they can opt 2.0-litre diesel engine with 178bhp and dual-clutch auto gearbox.
On top of strong and powerful engine options, Ford has brought tremendous engineering efforts to make it a perfect MPV. The fuel efficiency and astonishing CO2 emissions figures distinguishes it among rivals.
The figures of fuel economy and CO2 emissions are 46.3mpg and 139g/km for 2.0-TDCi diesel engine which has 178bhp.
Ford has also made the least powerful version of 2.0-TDCi diesel engine, which churns out 119bhp with the manual gearbox. It is defined as the cleanest engine, and emits 129g/km of CO2. Whereas fuel economy stays at 50.4mpg.
Ford has incorporated multi-function steering wheel, whereas interiors has been designed to give upmarket feel with the optional panoramic view. The Euro NCAP had awarded five star safety ranking to Ford’s Galaxy because of its super safety technologies.
