Although the C4’s standard equipment and other tweaks are just good with essential features like air-conditioning, electric windows and cruise control etc. these Citroen cars are still very cheap to run with elevated fuel economies, even with the ultra-refined diesel engines.
The previous generation of Citroen C4 was introduced back in 2004 and then the latest model came in 2011. It was basically a successor to the Citroen Xsara. An update to these models was introduced in early 2015 with ultra-clean Citroen C4 engines with mildly revised exterior and advanced standard kit. New 2015 Citroen C4 added with extra colour options, new alloy wheels and revised front and rear.
The all-new Citroen C4 has a revised range of diesel engines along with partially refined petrol engines with the PureTech tag. The standard PureTech 110 petrol engine emits just 110g/km of carbon and it returns a best in class 60 miles per gallon with a six-speed manual gearbox.
According to the several reviews, 1.6-litre BlueHDi 100 engine is claimed the most fuel efficient and clean engine in the Citroen C4 engine line-up. It is claimed to return 86 miles per gallon and a tax-free carbon figures with just 86g/km.
The Citroen C4 petrol engines are available with some great refinements to emit lower carbon and return extra fuel economy. All engines are different power versions of 1.2-litre three-cylinder PureTech with reasonable power. They are exclusively smooth and quiet with lofted efficiency to make you feel out of its wisdom on the UK roads.
There are several gearbox options available from five-speed manual to six-speed manual, from sequential auto to full auto to give you refined cruising on the UK roads.
